Earth

Our blue home

Here is Earth, our home among the stars! From space it looks blue because oceans cover most of its surface. Between the oceans are continents, with white clouds floating above. A layer of air called the atmosphere surrounds our planet. We breathe this air, and it helps keep Earth warm enough for living things.

Earth turns around like a spinning ball. When our side faces the Sun, it is daytime. When it turns away, night arrives. Earth travels once around the Sun every year, with the Moon beside it. Forests grow here, whales swim, birds fly, and we live here too.

Let’s build Earth as a puzzle → Explore in the planetarium →

In the planetarium you can spin this world and look at it from every side.
